Accessories - Valve Stem Filter Extension
The
IMI Valve Stem Filter Extension is designed to protect the valve core
from foreign particles contained in the tire cavity and to prevent
air loss through the tire valve system. Dust particles and contaminants
from the tire cavity or airlines may not permit the valve core to
seat properly and will cause an air loss problem. Convenient flow-thru
valve caps, even with a double seal, will also leak if valve core
is not seated properly. When making air pressure checks, EQUAL particles
may not allow the valve core to seat properly, creating a slow leak.
A metal sealing valve cap can be inserted to stop air loss. To prevent EQUAL from getting to the core, use a filter extension. This provides a filter between the tire cavity and the valve core, eliminating any chance of particles getting to the valve core which can cause an air leak. When using a flow-thru valve cap, a filter extension if required.
The special filter screen in the threaded base of the IMI Valve Stem Filter Extension housing will effectively block particles which will allow the valve core to seat properly. The filter screen is designed to protect the valve core, while allowing normal airflow for tire inflation and air checks.
The Valve Stem Filter Extensions are not necessary with use of te AirX Filtered Valve Core.
