How EQUAL Tire Performance Works

How EQUAL Tire Performance Tire Balance WorksTire and/or wheel assembly vibrations may be caused by imbalance, excessive runout or force vibration. Force vibration is the result of tire/wheel, brake drum/rotor inconsistencies along with other rotating axle end components and variables in operating conditions that cause vibrations as the tire contacts the road surface under load.

EQUAL Tire Performance has the ability to adapt, respond and dampen vibrations at the tire footprint. It compensates for irregularities found in both the tire and wheel assembly and at the tire road surface contact.

Because EQUAL Tire Performance is free to move inside the tire, it is able to continuously adapt to changing speeds, acceleration, deceleration, cornering forces, and other typical road conditions.

EQUAL reduces tire vibration in 3 ways:

  • It acts as a vibration dampener, absorbing tire vibration at all points around the tire's circumference.
  • It serves as a force reducer in the footprint area — applying a force downward on the tire as it moves through the footprint.
  • It performs as a mass balancer moving into a balanced position within the tire.

In all cases, tire vibration producing forces are reduced before they are transmitted to the vehicle suspension system.
