 Infrared Curing Oven
Eighty generators offer four zones of control from each side of the oven, allowing for a complete finishing process in less than two hours. The end result: faster service, better quality and reduced inventory and labor costs. Includes pneumatically powered monorail. The IR oven can be retrofitted to any existing wheel and rim liquid refinishing system.
The Advantages of the IMI Series 2020 "flow through" IR Oven are:
- IMI 2020 curing ovens use IR Energy, which is directional and cures within "line of sight." IMI ovens allow for true flow through capabilities.
- Using Parabolic Reflectors, IMI ovens are producing a 360 degree reflection of the IR Waves which is a very even, dependable wave concentration instead of a regular reflector which produces a broken pattern.
- We are not moving air through this oven — the exhaust is a requirement to remove "fumes and smoke" but very little air. Oven doors, opening and closing will create a radical movement of air with the hot/cool air exchange as opposed to an open oven in which the air remains stationary with very little movement apart from the exhaust.
- Migration of airborne contaminants always needs to be monitored in a powder coating system layout. A properly sized, positioned, canopied collection booth, proper application techniques, and proper clean-up maintenance can effectively control the migration of powder fines.
- Flow-through ovens have better control for observable finish problems and monitorable cure patterns. Problems in finishes show up long before full cure, and are easier to correct before a full cure has taken place (uncured or under-cured powder is removed with less effort than full cured powder). When a problematic wheel is spotted (bubbling seams, separations caused by contaminants, etc.) it can be extracted from the process prior to full cure. THE TOTAL CURE PROCESS IS EASILY MONITORED. Using true IR, the substrate can be brought up to temperature before the entire mass reaches temperature utilizing less energy and less time.
