Press Room - Press ReleasesFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: IMI PARTNERS WITH TMT SOFTWARE TO LINK AUDIT WITH TRANSMAN CHAMBERSBURG , Pa. ( January 8, 2001 ) - Two leading commercial vehicle and tire software programs will be linked through a new partnership. International Marketing, Inc. (IMI) will bridge its AUDIT™ &Professional Tire Management System with TMT TRANSMAN® Vehicle Maintenance Software. Through the partnership, customers can share information within the programs, while only requiring one data entry point for fleet maintenance and professional tire management. This will eliminate dual entry of such information as tire purchase orders, tire vendors, dates and prices of tire purchases, mileage, tire on/off vehicle events and tire inventory data. "After an extensive search it was very clear that the IMI system delivers the value and it is in fact, frankly, the best in the world for managing tire assets," said Rick Rosenberg, president of TMTsoftware. "Since we deliver the best in maintenance tracking, the idea of partnering with IMI gives you the best of all worlds, the general maintenance expenses as well as the specific tire expense." "This partnership is a win-win for IMI, TMT and our respective customers," said Steve Pheil, IMI's executive vice president. "We're pleased to align ourselves with TMT, which is a proven, high-quality software company with a loyal customer base." AUDIT SYSTEM First introduced in 1985, The AUDIT Professional Tire Management System is designed to reduce new tire acquisitions, reduce tire inventories, increase retreadability and improve tire performance - all while reducing overall tire costs per mile. AUDIT utilizes digital tire survey tools with a detailed database allowing for decisions that can save fleets as much as 40 percent on their tire budgets. Additionally, the AUDIT system provides simple ways to perform complex tasks such as: finding perfect duals, projecting inventory needs, projecting tire rotations and projecting tire removal dates. Perhaps the most important aspect of the system, AUDIT quarterly reports detail the effectiveness in lowering overall tire cost per mile and act as an auditor for management. AUDIT is being used as a partnership between Quirk Tire and Cassella, while its sister SNAPSHOT Fleet Tire Survey System - which also utilizes the digital survey tools - has such customers as McGriff Tire Industry and Maine Commercial Tire. TRANSMAN Available for a Windows-SQL, AS/400 environment and more recently as an ASP, the TRANSMAN fleet maintenance management software tool was created specifically to provide easy-to-use information about every aspect of maintenance and operation. Built on the VMRS coding system, TRANSMAN contains a base module for shop, facility, units, warranty recovery including claim forms, parts inventory, fuel management and barcoding. It also offers the following additional modules: TINA (mechanics workstation), invoicing management, barcoding, and data/import export. Furthermore, a generic accounting export is available along with a generic fuel/meter interface. Parts imports, trip ticket import, remote order transfer, data import/export and a query tool are also add-on modules. TRANSMAN is currently utilized in more than 400 commercial and private lines, including: P.A.M. Transport, Estes Express Lines, Reimer Express Lines, FFE Transportation, Averitt Express, Arnold Transportation, Indiana Western Express, H.E.B. Grocery, Safeway Stores, Stone Transportation, C&S Wholesale Foods, Coca-Cola Bottling, Proline Carriers, Millcreek Motor Freight and Leprino Foods. THE BRIDGE The "TRANSMAN/AUDIT BRIDGE" was designed to eliminate double data entry in AUDIT and TRANSMAN. The TRANSMAN program is being redesigned to include data entry screens that will supply data to a database "bridge" that will be accessed by both the TRANSMAN and AUDIT systems. This central database bridge will work to benefit both systems, some of the data will be placed from AUDIT to TRANSMAN and some will be from TRANSMAN to AUDIT. Users then will be able to use both software programs and benefit from a single data entry point. AUDIT will report on tire information and TRANSMAN will report on vehicle maintenance information. Using TRANSMAN, data will be generated to an intermediate database, the TRANSMAN/AUDIT "Bridge," which will process tire events, such as on-off vehicles, tire inventory on vehicle, on shelf and information about suppliers. This data will be processed by AUDIT and sent back to TRANSMAN via the bridge. All processed data will appear seamlessly within the TRANSMAN screens. Tire managers and maintenance managers will be able to utilize AUDIT for full data review and analysis. A more specific overview of the interface between TRANSMAN and AUDIT includes the following:
This transaction would contain vehicle number, meter reading, date and life- to-date utilization.
