NEW AND "NIFTY": SMART SENSE NAMED ONE OF INDUSTRY'S TOP NEW PRODUCTS OF 2004 BY HEAVY DUTY TRUCKING MAGAZINE

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa (April 10, 2005) - Not surprisingly, fleet owners and drivers aren't the only ones singing praises of Smart Sense. Heavy Duty Trucking magazine has also recognized IMI's latest truck-enhancing offering by giving Smart Sense one of the publication's annual "Nifty Fifty" awards.

The award recognizes the 50 most useful and innovative new trucking-related products of 2004. Winners were selected from hundreds of entries based on innovation, serviceability, and performance. Smart Sense, a sensing device that helps keep batteries charged to peak levels, was unveiled at the Great American Trucking Show in September 2004. IMI's newest development is the latest in a long line of company products, many of which focus on improving the performance of heavy-duty tires and wheels.

"Our intention is to recognize innovation and design excellence in the trucking industry," explained Heavy Duty Trucking Editorial Director, Deborah Whistler. "In a competitive industry with very tight margins, truck operators are constantly looking for ways to reduce their cost of operation."

IMI President, Bob Fogal, Jr., calls the recognition an honor and a testament to the company's goal of meeting the changing needs of the trucking industry.
