Product Marketing Specialist
Description

IMI is seeking a Product Marketing Specialist who will work under the direction of the Senior Director of Marketing to affect IMI’s profitability and revenue generation potential and increase customer retention. This role is responsible, as subject matter expert (SME), for using technical knowledge of all IMI products within their responsibility to capture the voice of customer, optimize marketing activities, and sales results. This will be achieved through in-depth technical consultancy and field initiatives ensuring efficient knowledge transfer to customers and internal colleagues. This position will hold additional responsibility to all support all marketing objectives, support the extraordinary relationships at our top distributors and commercial tire dealers with the goal of driving increased sales and profitability, as well as other organizational strategies. To be successful in this role, the individual must demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and must be able to perform effective research, analysis, identification of customer pain points and product differentiation in our market among our target demographic for IMI business growth opportunities. Responsibilities
  • Fully manage all aspects of competitor research, benchmarking and reporting, ensuring internal stakeholders are updated regularly on relevant competitor and marketplace activity and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop value propositions that lead to clear product differentiation, customer focused messaging.
  • Pro-actively contribute to the creation of sales enablement materials that support the selling and education across all product lines, including but not limited to: ROI calculators, samples and demonstrations, point of purchase materials, outbound campaigns, and technical written content with the goal of driving engagement.
  • Work with marketing and sales management to ensure that the IMI solutions are correctly communicated in the market.
  • Fully manage all aspects of IMI product packaging and labeling, completing a variety of tasks that will ensure our products are in full compliance with global regulatory requirements for labeling, hazard communication, and reporting and/or registration requirements.
  • Assist other important business functions by completing assigned tasks relative to the development, commercialization, and capitalization of product stages including, but not limited to new product development (NPD), product testing and evaluation, execution of strategic plans to grow IMI solution categories.
  • Travel and visit key accounts as a field sales support resource assisting in broad responsibilities including, but not limited to product launches, conducting market evaluations, and training demonstrations and/or presentations.
  • Provide insight into the customer experience and how it relates to other experiences in the market with the goal of influencing the NPD product roadmap.
Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Communications, or Business.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience in product marketing, product development, or related field. B2B experience is preferred and a minimum of 2 years of work experience with project management with proven instances of balancing multiple cross-team projects accountable for reporting on results.
  • Skills & Abilities
    • Must possess: Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills
      Excellent level of personal organization, collaboration skills, and effective oral/written communication skills.
    • Ability to absorb detailed and/or complex product information and then translate it into simplified messaging for the appropriate audience.
    • Ability to consolidate market intelligence and feedback to ensure customers’ needs are considered for new products or evolutions to the existing product catalog.
    • Drive for business results but focus on quality and value.
    • Experience in Microsoft Outlook and Excel required. CRM tools (Salesforce experience required) Adobe Creative Suite, preferred
    • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently without direct supervision.
    • Ability to sit for extended time periods.
    • Ability to lift 50lbs.
    • Willingness and ability to Travel more than 25% of the time.
    • Knowledge/understanding of transportation services industry is preferred.
