Since 1984, IMI has been the industry leader in wheel refinishing technology.
The IMI ALUMINATOR is the new innovative way to effectively and efficiently clean aluminum wheels. It was developed with both safety and appearance in mind. Using a combination of components, consumables, and inspections, the IMI ALUMINATOR produces a safe and clean wheel as recommended by TMC standards. This system is the most efficient aluminum wheel cleaning process on the market today.
THE IMI ALUMINATORTM PROCESS
The IMI ALUMINATOR Wash is the first step in our aluminum wheel cleaning process. This step efficiently cleans both sides of the aluminum wheel to remove dirt, grease, and grime.
After the IMI ALUMINATOR Wash, your service provider should perform an inspection looking for any damage or out-of-service conditions. Prompt removal of out of service or ‘RAR’ wheels from the process increases safety, as well as time and production costs.
The IMI ALUMINATOR Deep Clean safely and effectively opens the profile of the wheel to remove brake dust, asphalt, concrete, fly ash, regular grime, and dirt.
After the wheel has gone through the IMI ALUMINATOR Deep Clean, your service provider will perform another wheel inspection looking for any serious damages that were hidden under brake dust and debris. Some common kinds of hidden damage to look for include: cracks, distorted bolt holes, worn mounting faces, damaged wheel flanges, and removal of DOT stamping. If damages are found, the wheel should be removed from use.
The IMI ALUMINATOR Buff closes the profile of the wheel in order to prevent corrosion. This leads to a matte like finish for fleets who want their wheels to have a clean look.
An additional finish option can be chosen to use our IMI ALUMINATOR Shine to give a shiny look to the wheel.
